What is a quality sewing maching for beginners?
I want to learn how to sew. I am a fast learner and want to make a clothing line so I would need a machine that is good for beginners and for advance work. What model/brand would you recommend?
You’ll most likely want a different machine for production work than for learning. While you can do production work on a home machine (though it’s slow, not nearly as efficient and you’ll void the warranty), production machines are much more specialized than home machines. The production machine you sew side seams of skirts on is not the machine you use for hemming is not the machine you use for buttonholes. The backbone of production sewing is done with lockstitch machines. The Juki TL98q, a machine marketed for quilters, is a straight stitch only (lockstitch) machine that will take industrial folders and feet and will sew faster and has better presser foot pressure than home machines. It will not, however, blindstitch, zigzag or make buttonholes.
