Boulavard

Budapest is divided into districts. The most central being districts 2,5,6 and 7. Throughout these areas you will find Fabulous Architecture, Typical Hungarian Buildings, Clubs, Restaurants, Bars and a lot of Night Life. The public transport is second to none and you are always a few minutes away from all the Major Tourist Attractions.

District II is on the Buda side and in the Castle District, there you will find medieval buildings and excellent restaurants. Traffic is restricted in the area, so if you are looking for a relaxing time, in the most beautiful part of Buda, looking down over the River Danube and Pest on the opposite bank, district II is where you should stay.

District V, is on the Pest side and forms a triangle from the River Edge, up to Parliament and down to the Magnificent Market at the end of Vaci utca. District V, is full of magnificent buildings and this is where you will find most of the 5 star hotels.

District VI and VII, are a few minutes walk from the river and district V, and is divided by the Beautiful, Tree Lined, Andrassy Boulavard, which runs through the whole of the City Centre, down to Hero Square.

If you are planning to stay in Budapest, I would suggest that you stay, either in, or close to, these districts. If you find an apartment which suits your requirements, but find they are not in districts 2,5,6 or 7, make certain that you are only just outside these areas are within walking distance.

There are many new buildings, which are just outside the City Centre. They look very attractive, very modern and cheap but you could find yourself in a concrete jungle, away from the Hubble and Bubble of the City itself.

Central Budapest is not a concrete jungle but an Architectural delight. Go too cheap and you take the risk of finding yourself outside Budapest City, the money you save will be spent on taxi fares, and your precious time will be spent travelling back and forth.

There are many companies, offering beautiful apartments in typical Hungarian Buildings and they are not expensive. So don’t be fooled and ask questions about the district before you book.

District 13, has magnificent views over the River Danube, but it is up river, away from Margrit Island, District 9 is full of large modern apartment blocks and these might be being built around you. District 8 is still very run down. I am not saying that all the areas outside district 2,5,6 and 7 are not good to stay in, I am just saying be careful.
