Lexmark Optra E310 – A Savvy Business Judgment
The Lexmark Optra e310 printer is recommended for a small business or home office. The printer prints clean crisp text with great quality greyscale images. The printer has a true resolution of 600×600 dpi, weights 16.5 pounds and is 13.4 inches wide 14.4 inches deep and 8.8 inches high, so should fit well in a small office and not take up too much space. The best toner for this printer is the Lexmark Optra R printer toner cartridge.
The printer has high speed and quality printing. Laser printers dry quickly so therefore does not smudge, so you have the confidence that you can print documents from your desk and not have to waste working time waiting by the printer so that pages do not smudge.
Installation is easy and compatible with both PC’s and Macs. Installation can be done via USB or parallel port, and can only take up to ten minutes; cables unforutnately are not included and will need to be purchased. A clear well writted manual is included as well as toner in the purchase.
The printer is relatively quiet and prints pages at up to 8 pages per minute. Printing can be completed without interruping meetings that may be in progress due to the quiet nature of the printer. Print test pages show that the black print quality is consistent, with pages coming out clean, precise and the black edges clean and intact when checked closely with a magnifying glass. The printer can print up to sixteen pages on one sheet of paper.
With a 67MHz processor and 2mb of ram which can be upgraded up to 66mb has a 150 sheet automatic feeder and a manual sheet feeder. The printer can print on various types of paper, including card stock, transparencies, gloss paper and envelopes.
The Optra e310 comes loaded with 75 PCL, 75 post scripts and 2 bit map fonts. There are extra fonts on the included CD Rom and the printer is able to change from PCL to post scripts quickly and flawlessly.
The toner compatible with the printer is a toner/optical photoconductor cartridge that can print up to 5000 copies per cartridge. If you have small home jobs or notes that needed to be printed it is recommended to set the toner saver setting on your printer to extend the life of your toner.
