Dell 3110cn Printer – Things You’ll Want To Know About The Office Printer
An ideal printer for a small business and a home based business is the Dell 3110cn printer using Dell 3110cn toners. It is a good quality versus price color laser printer. Out of the box it is ready for networking and has an available memory upgrade, a duplex, and a wireless adapter.
This printer puts out quality text and graphic printing. It prints 31 ppm in black and white at a maximum of 600 x 600 dpi. In color it prints about 17 ppm when left at default settings. It is a little slower on strictly color graphics, but still has great output. For even better color quality, take the time to calibrate the color printing.
The Dell compatible toner are stacked in the printer. It comes with four cartridges, black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Each of the color cartridges will print 4,000 pages. The black cartridges print out is 5,000 pages. There are high yield cartridges available. These will print out up to 8,000 pages. Cost per page is about 9.4 cents for color output and about 1.4 cents per page for black and white output.
A 250 sheet drawer is inside the printer. It supports all the standard paper sizes, including legal paper. A multipurpose tray is included that holds 150 sheets. This tray also holds the standard paper sizes and allows for printing envelopes, labels and custom-sized documents. If more than these two drawers are needed, an optional paper drawer can be purchased for $200. This drawer holds an additional 550 sheets. Those three drawers hold a total of 950 sheets. All drawers hold plain, glossy and thicker stock paper. Use them at the same time to print various size sheets of paper.
It comes standard with a 10/100 Ethernet, 2.0 high speed USB port and a parallel port. The Ethernet port allows network printing. The connection also allows you to see how much toner is being used and when it is necessary to order new toner. The ability to have it reordered automatically also exists. There is a wireless adapter available for wireless printing. This costs about $150.
All printing tasks will be completed quickly and efficiently with the 400 MHZ processor. There is one memory expansion slot. 128 MB of RAM comes standard, with the option to upgrade up to 1,152 MB. For network printing the higher memory availability would benefit as far as speed and avoiding backed up documents. A smaller upgrade can offer more speed as well for larger printing jobs or those with large amounts of graphics, freeing computer memory.
It is a sizable printer and needs space. It comes in standard black and silver housing. It is 18.5 inches tall, 15.8 inches wide, and 19.1 inches deep. More space will be needed with the multipurpose tray open. It weighs in at 53 lbs.
