New Grandma Celebrates As Her 10 Year Old Gives Birth
A 10 year gives birth in Spain, starting controversy The birth occurred in Jelez de la Frontera, within the region of Andalusia, Spain. The newest grandma is reporting her ten year old child as pleased and healthy after giving birth. The family are Roma, also known as Gypsies, and the new grandma Olimpia and her pregnant 10 year old went to Spain for the birth. Drastically underage marriages aren’t uncommon among Roma. The new grandma insists it’s not unusual at all.
Baby something a 10 year old has
A story that began in Andalusia has gotten very popular. “10-year-old gives birth” is the name of the story. The Huffington Post reports that Jelez de la Frontera, who is 10 and in Roma, gave birth to a baby girl. Olimpia is the mom of the girl. She is keeping a private identity for her daughter. The father of the baby is unverified as of right now. He is expected to be in Romania though and is 13 years old. He and the new mother are no longer dating. Olimpia as a new grandmother says that as numerous in the Roma culture marry and give birth young, this isn’t anything new. Numerous marriages are arranged in these countries. This is despite the fact that underage marriages are illegal in many places.
Record age is half that
The youngest mother on record had been Lina Medina, a Peruvian girl who gave birth in 1939 at 5 years old, as outlined by AOL News. There is a phenomenon called precocious puberty, where kids start puberty early, often due to a hormone imbalance. Typically, if a female with precocious puberty gives birth to a child, the alleged father is arrested. In Spain, the legal age of consent for minors is 13, and breach of that brings charges of child abuse. Most teen pregnancies come from Andalusia in Spain. In fact, in 2008, 48 of the 177 births from girls younger than 15 originated from Andalusia.
Different stuff in different cultures
The Roma culture in Europe is criticized most frequently for the young age at which some are married. The government expelled many of the Roma living in France recently.
