What is the difference between being GROWN and being a young adult?
I know a 18-20 year old isn’t grown and I dont think a person should be considered legally an adult until they are 21 like in Mississippi the age of majority.An 18 year old can fight in war because of his lack of maturity by the government!
Most kids do not reach full physical maturity including brain maturity until they are in their early 20′s Some continue growing until 21 or 22. But they want to be treated like adults much earlier. They think they have the ability to make mature decisions, but often they do not. Many learn from their mistakes at this stage. The government however, does need youth to fight it’s battles.
Generally speaking, those who are mature have been give responsibility early in life. Facing hard things makes them grow up quicker. That is why military service for the young is often very good for them. If they have been spoiled by their parents and grandparents, the service will turn that around quickly. Those who do not have a ‘normal’ family will discover the best family they have ever known in the military. …and they will be your family for a long long time. Many a good soldier loves his or her military family more that their own families.
