How to deal with Apartment Owners who use their residential flats for Commercial purposes ?

This is in Chennai . Apartments have been purchased in our Residential Complex , and the owners themselves are running full-fledged businesses/offices there . To whom does one complain ? Are there any ways in which an Owners’ Association can forbid such use ? (As the Housing Societies in Mumbai can ?)

yes owners association can make a resolution to the effect that the premises to be used only for residential purpose.

check the CMDA sanction. if commercial approval is there you cannot forbid. if the sanction is exclusively residential the association can forbid the commercial use.
