How to succeed in becomming a white van man
What are the main qualities needed to become a bonifide recognised ‘white van man’? Perhaps the obvious kick-off point is to own a white van, that said, you could still be excluded from the fraternity. I will list some of my own experiences, which would guarantee entry into the club for anyone.
Complete disregard for other road users
Now, this is vitally important if you wish to become a member of this club. There can’t be a slight distortion of the rules here and there, or little blind eyes turned to highway code. It has to be total anarchy! For example, If you find yourself driving down a narrow road, you can’t elegantly drive past an oncoming vehicle. It is necessary to try to force the oncoming vehicle to stop and let you through, or totally run them off the road. if you can adhieve this without caring at all, then you are a larger step closer to your goal.
Dominate your steet with your vehicle
Nowadays in most towns and cities the councils have woken up to the fact that lots of money can be made by forcing the population to pay for parking. Parking space outside your own house is now prime space, and you are not even guaranteed a parking slot nearby. But where does ‘white van man’ fit into this? He has to own several vehicles, and park his van in the street – thereby taking the space of about four cars. If you can do this and not care about the neighbours, then you will definitely earn your stripes!
